No visitor gives it the slightest weight, for a simple reason: nobody has ever written the opposite. Reputation is not declared, it is proved \u2014 and on a marketplace, proof takes a precise form.<\/p>\n<h2>A verified review is not just one more review<\/h2>\n<p>The difference comes down to one sentence: a verified review is left by someone the platform knows has genuinely booked with you. It is not a form open to all comers, where a competitor, a friend or a bot can write whatever they like.<\/p>\n<p>That constraint has a cost: you will have fewer reviews than elsewhere. Above all it has a value: the ones you do have carry weight, because the visitor knows what they took to obtain. Ten verified reviews convince more than a hundred comments of unknown origin.<\/p>\n<h2>The first three reviews are the hardest<\/h2>\n<p>A profile with no reviews at all invites hesitation, even when everything else is impeccable. And to get a review you need a client, who hesitates precisely because there are no reviews. That circle is broken by hand, on your first few jobs.<\/p>\n<p>What works:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ask at the right moment<\/strong> \u2014 just after the service, while the satisfaction is still fresh, not three weeks later;<\/li>\n<li><strong>ask only once<\/strong>, plainly, without insistent chasing: one reminder too many turns a satisfied client into an irritated one;<\/li>\n<li><strong>suggest nothing about the content.<\/strong> A scripted review is spotted from a mile away, and it discredits the genuine ones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Reply to reviews, especially the bad ones<\/h2>\n<p>A negative review is not a penalty, it is a public statement to which you have a right of reply. And it is often your reply, far more than the review itself, that the next visitors read.<\/p>\n<p>A good reply has four parts: you thank the client, you acknowledge the factual point if it is correct, you explain without justifying yourself, you propose a next step. It stays short, it does not argue with the client\u2019s feelings, and it does not try to be right. A professional who answers criticism calmly inspires more confidence than a professional with no criticism at all.<\/p>\n<p>What you must never do: reply in the heat of the moment, dispute point by point, remind the client of everything you did for them, or imply that they are lying. Even when it is true, it works against you.<\/p>\n<h2>A perfect score everywhere is a suspicious signal<\/h2>\n<p>A business profile that shows nothing but five-star ratings, across dozens of reviews, no longer reassures many people. Buyers have learnt to read: a very high rating with a few mixed reviews is more credible than a perfect score with no rough edges at all.<\/p>\n<p>A mediocre review handled well is therefore worth more than no review at all. It shows that you really exist, that you really work, and that you know how to handle a disagreement.<\/p>\n<h2>Reputation is an asset, not a decoration<\/h2>\n<p>It is the only part of your business profile that your competitors can neither copy nor buy. Text can be rewritten, a photo retaken, a price matched. A history of verified reviews is built over months of real work, and it travels with you: it arrives before your quotes, it shortens your negotiations, it justifies your rates.<\/p>\n<p>That is also why it needs protecting. A service rushed through on an overloaded day costs more than a day's turnover: it leaves a public trace that you will carry for a long time.<\/p>\n<h2>In summary<\/h2>\n<p>Do not claim to be reliable: let the people who paid to find out say it for you. Ask for your first reviews by hand, at the right moment, without pushing. Reply to all of them, calmly, especially the bad ones.
